Why Smart Money Buys

A Smart Money Buys alert means addresses the network rates as skilled traders opened positions.

Day to day, wallet alerts show what money did, which is harder to fake than a post. Degen Foundry follows Smart Money Buys on Solana and asks whose wallets they are and what they did before.

Degen Foundry reads on-chain buying as evidence, with limits. One wallet can split into ten; a fresh wallet can belong to the deployer. The checks below cover both cases.

First look: Open the buying wallet and read its last twenty trades before trusting the buy. Check whether several buying wallets were funded from one source a few minutes earlier.

  • liquidity at least $10.0K
  • top-10 wallets holding at most 40 %

In the 34 most recent lane alerts at build time (about 6 hours), 22 passed this screen. The passing group sat at a median $146.0K cap with $38.8K in the pool and roughly 770 holders. 4 out of 34 alerts showed a pool smaller than a tenth of the cap — a warning sign on its own.
